The Crab Stop II Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Let me start by saying this may be the best seafood I've ever eaten!! It's run by a local family and everything is fresh. It's not much to look at, but it is truly one of those hole in the wall best kept secrets! The service was amazing, and may I add again best seafood I've ever had. My wife and I shared the Snow Special with snow crab legs, jumbo shrimp, potatoes, and corn flavored with butter, garlic, and spices. Recommend recommend recommend!!!!!

Food is GREAT!!! When they have LARGE BLUE CRABS usually the crabs are small otherwise! Great Sweet Tea, I eat here all the time!!!

The Chelsie was amazing and plenty for three or four people. The seafood rice was also very good. The garlic makes the dinner. The food is excellent even though the area and exterior are questionable.

Great customer service from the time you walk in the door and the food was amazing. ... Great place for kids to come whether on business or pleasure to eat and relax.

This place is awesome! Great food, huge portions, awesome staff and very reasonable prices. I had the shrimp special and couldn't finish it all - so, so good! We will be back for sure!

Amazing food at a price that will make you wonder why they are letting you rob them. Downside, the appearance is horrible, it's an old IHOP, and the food took a while to come out, but, you really shouldn't let that stop you. The food was amazing and came in huge portions, the price was way below the tourist trap restaurants in the area and the service was good and fun. We had a blast and stuffed our faces till the place was closing. You can wait two hours at that other famous crab place, overpay and get food that is decent but nothing special or you can try this place out for a completely different flavor and experience. Take a chance and try it out.

My husband and I shared a dozen fried shrimp, a dozen garlic crabs, red potatoes and corn. The biggest complaint is that out of the dozen crab, totalling 24 claws we only had 8 in total. After complaining at the end because the waitress was not around to check, she brought a small bowl containing 5 claws. As a mathematician , I know we were charged for a dozen complete crabs, but in fact was shorted 11 claws. I will now refer to this place as the Clawless Crab Stop. It will be a long while before we revisit which is ashame because we own a home nearby.

Incredible homemade seasoning on the crabs!! Delicious, fresh, and filling. These gentlemen know how to cook crabs! Good prices. Friendly customer service. This would be our local family hangout if we lived here!

Awesome Maryland-style seafood! Very good prices and the friendliest service. We're so happy we turned back from the oceanfront! We'll be back whenever we're at Daytona Beach. Be ready to get messy & lick your fingers. Tip: don't pass on the corn on the cob!! Delicious.

We were on our little vacation in Daytona and was in the mood for some blue crabs and coincidentally seen this place. Looks like an old IHOP on the outside and painted yellow and have a crab image that can't be missed. It's not the best looking place, but the service and food are pretty good . It definitely fulfilled my seafood craving

Great Food horrendous Service...get ready to wait long for your drinks..to be neglected by the servers...for them to forget items..but the food is AWESOME...

Went here with my family for a birthday. 1) the people were so nice! 2)the crabs were fantastic very well seasoned and a million times better than Joe's Crab Shack 3)the prices were very fair will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful good, decently priced, large portions but slow and not very friendly services. One waitress was nice but the other was not personable at all.

We were on our way home with an 8 hr drive ahead of us, so we stop to get some garlic crabs to enjoy once we got home. We got the 6 medium garlic crabs, 6 garlic eggs, 2 halves of corn on the cob that equal out to be one whole ear, and garlic rice. We were told that the garlic rice had crab meat, shrimp, vegetables, eggs and garlic seasoning. What we got was a container of plain white rice with some Old Bay seasoning sprinkled on top. That made the meal a major let down and not worth the $40 that it cost me!

Drove by the place and saw the words "crab", "garlic", and "Maryland", so I decided to have lunch there. Good choice. They were out of blue crabs when I visited, which was alright 'cause I don't like them anyway. The snow crab with garlic and butter was heavenly, and at $7 a cluster (about 4-5 legs), hell of a bargain. The potato are alright and their sausages were ok. Crab cake (you can ask for grilled or fried), was a little salty for my taste, but the grilled type does a good imitation of actual Baltimore crab cakes. Will come again next time I'm in Daytona.

I'm so torn with this review. But, I hope that the owners/management read these, making your customers happy will grow your business. I love this place. I'm new to eating blue crabs because I had zero desire to clean them. I refuse to dissect my food :) However, when I learned that the garlic crabs were already cleaned I decided to try one. OMG! I love them!!! My husband though grew up in Delaware and only eats his Maryland style. And the "rule" with crabbers up there is to toss the female crabs back into the water. So everywhere you go only serves male crabs. He swears the females taste different and he doesn't like them. So when we go to Crab Stop II we always ask if they have enough males to fill his order (1 dozen) before taking a seat. The last six times we went here or called in advance to check on the availability of 12 Maryland-style male's they haven't had ANY Maryland-style crabs. They precooked and cleaned them all for garlic crabs. Today we were there by 1:20pm, and no live ones left?!?! Why put on your sign that you serve them Maryland-style if you don't keep any live ones to cook? Which also makes me wonder how long the cooked ones have been sitting around in a warmer if you order them at 5pm in the afternoon. Sadly, I don't know if I'll ever get to have garlic crabs again because hubby can't get his.

Delicious! The ambience kind of sucks but this place rocks. Delicious and 1/2 the price of other chain restaurants. Highly recommend taking a trip across the bridge. Great garlic seasoning

Delicious and fairly priced! Good friendly service. The people were knowledgable and the food was great. We ordered the dozen crabs and they were awesome. Highly recommend it.

Really good food. I was skeptical when I went in because it's not a great looking place but we were warmly greeted so we took a seat. Corn fritters were immediately brought to us as we looked over the menu. I ordered a half dozen of the blue crabs (maryland crabs). I didn't realize that they'd serve female crabs. Florida really needs to stop the capture of female crabs. There is a slight difference in taste between the males and females but it's been so long since I've had crabs and with them being piping hot from just being steamed, they were all quite good. A great meal. My partner got the Large Garlic Crabs. We thought that maybe the crabs would be dungenous but they too were Maryland blue crabs. They were tiny however. My crabs were mediums and were bigger than the large ones ordered. I'd suggest that if you order them, to get the mediums because they cost less and you're going to get them anyway. The crabs were partially cleaned and sautéed in garlic butter. They were really good and piping hot as well. Our friend got the chicken wings and liked them as well. We decided to end our meal another two orders of the corn fritters. A great meal!

The food was delicious, but the service was horrendous. My family found this place late one night last time we were in Daytona and the food was good. We decided to stop by again because we liked the food so much the first time around. Well, the food did not disappoint at all though the portions from table to table, and visit to visit seemed to really vary which was disappointing. The service was really bad as our waitress did not even say hello and took her sweet time getting out order and just threw down a basket of some deep fried something or other that apparently was complimentary and walked away. I did not understand what she said the things were but they were tasty anyway. We'll probably be back next time we are in Daytona because the food is very good, but if the service does not improve it may be our last visit.

Been traveling for business in FL for 6 weeks and this is the best seafood (crab and garlic shrimp!) I've had. Such cool folks here too. And the hot beignets as appetizers, oh my goodness! Brought the entire team tonight. Won't go to any other restaurant while I'm in Daytona.

Great food. Great price. Good service. Mild seating. I wouldn't suggest trying to bring a larger party unless you're willing to wait but we got the special number 2 and it was amazing and more than enough for 5 adults.

This is a very popular Mom and Pop-type restaurant with no frills (including an empty fish tank at the entrance). We love to find good hole-in-the-wall restaurants, so this was not a deterrent. The servers are pleasant, if inefficient. The wait for your food is long. They bring you a big bowl of crab/whatever you order, with a literal cup of melted butter poured over it and about six very flimsy napkins. I prefer the practice of other places we have been that just set a whole roll of paper towels on your table. The garlic crabs are little things with good flavor, but all shell and little meat-not worth all the work you have to do to get anything out. The sweet hush puppies are good, the snow crab is also good and the shrimp has an excellent spice coating. The clientele is very casual, looking like they just came off of the beach, so don't dress up. There are TVs set to news/sports on both sides of this little place. I would not go again, just because they are so understaffed that you don't get the condiments you want until the meal is half over.

  • Mimi G.

No stars really. We Waited an hour and could not get served, waitress kept telling us it was almost out .... LIE! Our order was simple. After an hour she came by with complimentary fritters :( All the people in the restaurant were waiting a long time too we noticed throughout our long observing hour. The Plates they gave us were greasy and crab crackers that we didn't even get to use were dirty (we washed in the bathroom) don't waste your time, they are too busy trying to fill TO GO orders than to tend to LIVE customers. One hour plus wait to get served crab and shrimp?! That is THE ONLY items they sell there, why would they not have it cooking or ready for live customers.... It's sad.

  • Angelina A.

After a day on the beach it was nice to stop into a fresh seafood joint. Looks like an IHOP on the inside and the staff is friendly but sort of ignores you. The food was not all that hot, but tasty. WAY TO SALTY!!!! Be sure and ask for LIGHT on the salt!!!!

  • Yemi ..

From my several trips to Daytona beach, it appears that there are ways too many chains here and a lack of good local restaurants. So I was a bit skeptical going here for the first time. I figure I could not go wrong for the price. I loved the fried Tilapia sandwich with the slightly crispy buns, which though unusual, but tasted just great. The food here is very good and the price makes it even better. Customer service was very good as well. I gave four stars because my fountain was not right. I definitely recommended the restaurant.

Great little place to eat some crab. Garlic potatoes are amazing! Nice big servings of snow crab. We even got complementary corn dodgers. Only downside was bad service that took forever.

We actually had the wings and really enjoyed them. It's not a fancy spot but their menu hit the spot as far as taste. My honey is a wing lover and aficionado he even enjoyed the wings!

Stopped here for lunch on the way back to NJ from Miami...loved my grilled Tilapia, the rest of our party noshed on the crabs. Though different from the MD style crabs to which we are accustomed, these were darn tasty. Our "lunch" detour turned into a 2 1/2 hour long food extravaganza. The waitress was incredibly sweet and attentive as were the proprietors. If I lived in Daytona Beach, I'd go back!

  • Fab V.

The service was really lacking!! I simply paid for our drinks at the counter and left because of the super long wait time just to place an order...Totally left Crab Stop II and went directly to Joe's Crab Shack in Sanford.

  • Steve P.

Crab Stop II you neeeeed to stop in and get your crab on. If you realy like seafood the shrimp ain't so shrimp these shrimp have been corn fed The crab, Here you say BIG big helpings. If you stop by say hi to Ilisha tell her SHREK sent you.

  • Yuri K.

Super delicious! We got the shrimp special which comes with about 12 steamed shrimps and the Cajun seasoning is delicious !!! The only downside is that they are short staffed with one waitress and two kitchen cooks so there was a slight delay but other than that the food was fulfilling!

We are always on an adventure to find a great place to eat when traveling and we were successful when we found this place. Service was excellent and the food was simply; sinfully delicious. This place is a Dive but once your food arrives you will forget the decor. The flavor was all there if you want great testing crab, wings and crawdads. LOTS of Butter and their seasoning will definitely win you over and don't forget the beer. At their price it's like their giving it way compared to other places here! Don't be a victim of all the tourist traps in Daytona beach and pay too much for food and drinks when you can come here and get so much more for your money. Service may have been bad before (its our 1st time here) but we didn't have that issue now and the place was packed! The whole dinning experience was excellent, this is our 2nd visit to Daytona Beach and we have sampled 4 different sea food restaurants recommended by Floridians, this tops them all.

  • Puncha N.

Being a true Floridian I was craving garlic crab. I can take my blue crab Maryland or Florida style. Had been vacationing in Daytona for the past week and prior to that was in Jacksonville, FL for several days where they are known for inexpensive, delicious garlic (blue) crab. Folks from Jacksonville eat garlic crab like some people open a bag of chips. Saw this place (The Crab Stop II) and asked a cousin who said they were on point. Sent my native, none crab eating Georgian husband in while I continued to enjoy the beach. He purchased 6 medium (blue) garlic crab, potatoes, corn and sausage. He was complaining right off the bat about the prices but I held my peace and had him order anyway. When he arrived the 6 medium garlic crab were VERY TINY; which explaines why I got 8 and they were slightly overcooked (they were out of Large). The corn was frozen vs. fresh and cooked within an inch of its life - - one bite and I was done w/the corn. The sausage was extremely SALTY and I was afraid to even try the potatoes. This is NOT what I was expecting. BUYER BEWARE!

  • Michael P.

I was hoping this would be a good place. Sorry. My order was crab cakes and they were strange... Oil saturated, chewy and reminiscent of an undercooked pancake. I don't know how much crab was in it due to the overwhelming taste of old, burnt oil. Fries were decent but still had that burnt oil taste as well. Cole slaw was average. My wife had fried clams and gave the following description: "they taste like they opened a box of Mrs Pauls clam strips and dumped them in the fryer". I try to give places the benefit of the doubt but I can't get myself to risk another meal where I have to fill up on average fries due to a poor entree. Good luck all.

I was skeptical about this location but it's just as good as the other one. Great service, nice people, and the price is ok. Even though I always turn it down, I like how they always offer a complimentary corn fritter when I order.

Visited the crab stop 2 on 1/16/15 and I have to say it was a pleasant experience. Food was great. I had the sweet and sour chicken wings and steamed oysters. The chicken wings were big, meaty and had a great flavor. They were definitely not the tiny little pigeon wings some other places serve. The oysters weren't the best I've ever had but they were okay. Other people in my party had the crab snack pack and it all came out great. Also they gave us a complimentary order of corn fritters, which tastes like a corn muffin and a funnel cake had a baby and they sprinkle it with a little powdered sugar. They were great. The only reason I didn't give this place 4 stars was the service. Our waitress kind of neglected us a little and it's not like this place was that busy. By the time we left I had one refill on my drink while I was eating 20 chicken wings and a half a dozen oysters. Other than that great place to eat.

So disappointed! We're in town for one night and wanted seafood. The place was crowded so we thought we had found a hidden gem. More like a dust bunny. The floors were slippery greasy, napkins and other trash was on the floor and empty tables sat dirty. We got our drinks quickly and while waiting for our food I found myself entranced by the flies on the inside of the window. My flat crab cakes, fries and room temperature cole slaw showed up quickly, as did my moms fried shrimp. But not her fries or slaw. The next time anyone checked on us we had finished eating and our glasses were empty. Ten minutes later we went to the counter to pay (without a check) and it was chaos. Thankfully we were only charged for a portion of moms meal but overall it was horrible. And I didn't even bring up the screaming kids!

I was very excited about this place after passing by and seeing the advertisement for Maryland style crabs. Being from Maryland, it is hard to find anywhere outside of the state that can get blue crabs just like they were growing up. To start off, the lobster bisque had the texture of jello, and the consistency of condensed cream of mushroom soup. We returned it. I ordered the Daytona special, which is a dozen blue crabs, a pound of potatoes and two small half ears of corn. Unfortunately I did not realize there was such a drastic difference in the way garlic crabs are prepared as opposed to Maryland style. The garlic crabs are cooked with the top shell already removed, and it gave the meat a kind of sogginess, not to mention the bottom of the bowl was a pool of butter. It definitely was not what I had expected when I ordered a dozen blue crabs. My fiancee and sister in law ordered 2 lbs of snow crab legs to split. When they arrived, they were coated in garlic powder. I have never seen snow crab legs with anything on them, so this was also new. The legs, however, were very overcooked, and they returned them to order some shrimp instead, which was much better prepared. I wish we had a better experience here, and maybe....just maybe, I will return someday and order the crabs Maryland style, but I know I don't want anything to do with garlic crabs... As for the bisque, no thanks, the crab legs I will order without any seasoning powder all over them. On a better note, our server was very friendly, the managers were also very friendly and attentive, the corn fritters were delicious, and the amount of food you seem to get for the money is worth it.

Maryland style crabs, this is loaded up with Old Bay!!! Also, major greatness was the bucket of oysters!!! I was expecting a bucket, but they brought them served already shucked...less work. Ordered oysters lightly steamed = perfect! I recomend this way if you like your oysters juicy, not rubbery. Great place, service was outstanding...lots of napkins, extra lemons, horseradish all brought immediately after requested.

Fresh crabs at a great price! You can get medium or large crabs steamed or prepared in their garlic sauce. Both are really good but you get more meat in steamed!

Very very very good!!!! I'm from Los Angeles and I have had my share of crabs! But this place is the best!

So I've been going around hunting down seafood restaurants in Ormond Beach and Daytona, and I have enjoyed a lot of them for different reasons. This one I loved because of the garlic crabs. The previous times I've had garlic crabs (Orlando Style) it was nothing to write home about. Just really messy and the meat was a bit mushy from being cooked for so long, almost tasted stewed. What I didn't know were all these other places were cooking them wrong. The Crab Stop II made them in such a way that the meat was still firm. It was priced moderately, and had AC (for crab shacks this is amazing). The place wasn't fancy by any stretch of the imagination, looked like a fast food/diner but the crabs were scrumptious! Certainly worth venturing off the main strip of Daytona Beach to try these crabs out. The other meals we ordered were just so/so but the garlic crabs were something to definitely come back for.

I can't for the life of me understand why people have written positive reviews of this place. I ended up here while entertaining some out of town guests. I was hoping to get to Beach Street, but Biketoberfest traffic got the best of us and we ended up here. The first impression walking in was that it was an old iHop, and it didn't look like they had done much to fix it up. There was paint peeling off the wall, and my eyes were drawn to the fish tank which contained small fish meant to feed larger tank fish (and cost about .12c each at Petsmart). Cheap cheap cheap. I'm not a cynical person, but I had my doubts from the start. Our server was quick to greet us and take our orders. My Mom ordered a glass of wine and the server brought out a glass that was straight out of the dishwasher and soaking wet. I had to use my paper napkin (which contained only a fork) to dry it. It was hard to find food on the menu that wasn't fried, and the menu contained some interesting combos for a mostly fried food joint. The one that stands out was the "OJ Special" which was $150 worth of fried seafood. Strange name for a dish, and an even stranger price to be on a dine-in menu at a crab shack. I had the conch fritter basket. It was okay, but the fries were a little undercooked. My mom had a side of corn on the cob which was served without any utensils to hold the corn. Our server had to go find toothpicks. My friend ordered the blackened Tilapia with a side of hush puppies. The fish was good, but the hush puppies didn't come out until we were almost finished eating, and were doughy and raw inside. Completely inedible. They brought out a complimentary basket of Cornfritters (which were very good), but it was too little too late. Overall I wasn't too impressed and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for quality food.

5 star service. 4.5 star flavor. We ate dinner here late afternoon last Saturday. Good thing because staff said there's usually a long wait at night. The lobster bisque was very tasty. As a first timer Nesha our wonderful server suggested we taste something with their famous garlic sauce. We had shrimp dinner and crab cake dinner. Nice shrimp, unique cakes like deviled crab style w/ crusted tops. Yummy large corn fritters were given while waiting. The garlic potatoes were scrumptious (note: u can ask for light or heavy on the butter sauce) they must go thru 40#'s a day, just sayin'. Make sure you try this place. Don't except clean dining areas. The bathroom counter was clean but not much else. But step into this southern soulful place on old Volusia Ave (ISB now) and enjoy the rhythm tunes, lots of tvs and tons of crab boils and more!

Really good crabs and garlic shrimp! I would give it 5 stars if the service wasn't so bad.. Lady took my order then grabbed my husbands menu out his hands and never asked what he wanted and just walked away. Finally we were able to stop her and give her his order but his food came out WAY after mine.. This is a shame because the food is really awesome and you get a lot for little money!

I picked this place by random when staying in Daytona on business, I did a search for seafood close to my hotel. This place is merely 1.5 miles away from the airport hotels. I arrived a little after 8pm. It's VERY important to note that this place closes at 9PM sharp Monday thru Thursday. There were 4 tables seated when I arrived and i would later discover that they were wrapping up. I am going to share with you the two big negatives about this place. First, the restroom was a mess, with sticky floors water and paper everywhere. It resembled a bad gas station restroom. Second, although you close at 9PM and although your wait staff keeps telling you "no rush" when they start mopping the floor with bleach, pretty much no one could keep eating. This is just wrong. All major side work, should be done after the customer leaves. Now on to the good. I asked my server to tell me what the specialty of the house was. She recommended either the "Snack Pack" which features blue crabs, or the "Snow Snack Pack" featuring snow crabs. Both packs have 3 jumbo shrimp, andouille sausage, 1 hard boiled egg, and 1/2lb of boiled potatoes. When I pressed her she went with the Snow, so I did. I was brought out a homemade corn fritter sprinkled with powdered sugar. I had time to take a picture and was brought out my entree. Maybe 10 minutes had passed total. The entree was served up in a large bowl. It's swimming in hot butter and sprinkled with some seasoning (old bay, garlic, parsley) but not in a way that seems disgusting until you are just about finished and you realize just how much butter there is. Fortunately, it was good and hot and with plenty of potatoes (I didn't finish mine), so there is plenty to soak. The shrimp are large just like described and quite tasty. The sausage is just north of mild, with just enough kick to add a variety or flavor with plenty of them to balance out the nice snow crab cluster. Which is 1/2 of a large snow crab legs, a large claw and the entire body, plenty of meat. The hard boiled is an interesting touch and definitely sets this dish apart. Believe it or not it's actually a good fit. I finally got a taste of the fritter and it too was good. The homemade flavor can almost pass as desert as its sweet enough, and with the dinner's flavors, a better start than side. Due to the situation I encountered with feeling like I needed to leave, and the strong smell of bleach, I ordered dessert to go. I chose the homemade lemon pound cake which I enjoyed back at the hotel with some hot tea. It was quite a nice sized piece and very tasty. The look of the place is divey, casual and the booths have lost most of their padding. A little TLC would improve the visual appeal. There doesn't appear to be any wireless but there are TVs. Overall, my rating is direct reflection of the quality of the food, the taste and the fair price. For $25.24, I had a bottled beer, a wonderful seafood entree and a dessert, with tip included. This was a great surprise and I will definitely come back to try something else on the menu. I hope that the place will work on the cleanliness of the restroom and the cleanup process as I strongly feel like with a bit of work those improvements will add more stars and improve their ratings and business.

Outstanding! I was passing through, and saw Maryland garlic crabs, an being from Md, I had to try. I was not disappointed. The medium garlic crabs were soaked in just the right amount of butter and garlic. The shells were actually just soft enough to eat which kept the mess and shells to a minimum. However after a half doz, I was still a little hungry. So the seafood rice was nothing short of Spot on! I will be back again to try the rest of the menu, which loped delicious!

This place is very solid! The garlic crabs are so tasty, most tasty thing I ate during the week in Daytona on vacation. Get the garlic crabs with shrimp, sausage and potatoes mixed in-- Redskins quartered and cooked perfectly then soaked in the butter/garlic/spice mix from the crabs. This place is also half the price of most other places in town. Best value in town. Corn fritters also very tasty while you wait-- taste like a funnel cake and dusted with sugar. Excellent service as well.
